Artworks & Posters Peace (1965) — Henryk Tomaszewski
A work of art from 1965 by the father of the Polish School of Posters — Henryk Tomaszewski, “Peace” is a timeless masterpiece that has since remained relevant and relatable.
Awarded in various competitions, including the first International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, “Peace” has no visible words yet full of important symbols: dove for peace, clover leaves for luck, and most important of them all, the multi-skin-coloured colour palette.
The message is simple and direct — Peace cannot be achieved without the participation of all — A message that is so fundamentally clear yet un-understandable by some.
